The date is 2024-09-20. I've been here before. I'm creating this note so I don't end up back here again because I stray from my plan. I just started a new vault in Obsidian leaving the mountain of notes I created over about a 2 year period of time between 2022 to 2024. Why? Because my notes are too long. I need a format change. I was trying too hard to get everything about a specific topic into a single note. My first vault was so unorganized that I was obsessed with notes being [[Atomic Notes|Atomic]] and not having random ideas jotted down. It got more and more difficult to add new ideas unless the note was just a list of ideas. While those list notes thrived they didn't turn into anything. The crème dela crème true [[Evergreen Notes]] I worked so hard on were impossible to add new ideas to because there was no stage for my lesser ideas to shake themselves out. [[My Note Taking Journey]] # The Plan Jot down anything that comes to mind or I see somewhere. Create insights by merging these ideas together. Keep insights short and rely heavily on shorter form factor stories or [[The Mini Essay|mini essays]] to make the connections. Think rather than a note labeled Jesus Christ, five hundred each with a specific insight into his life and ministry. Or rather than the note I had going for Typical Design Practices with way to many items in it, a series of typical design practices all their own notes that can be tied to different items as they're relevant. Push continually toward outcomes. ```mermaid stateDiagram-v2 direction LR     [*] --> Ideas     Ideas --> Insights     Insights --> Outcomes ``` Instead of major edits to *insights* there can be new or replacement insights with an updated date. Completed insights typically are part of a series or grouped by type.
