Our great tools like [[Smart PM]] and [[LeadTime Software]] can only be as good as the input information. I hate schedules that are bogged down itemized procurement tasks. It can be implied that procurement requires approvals. Unless there is a delay (multiple resubmittals, change notice, etc.), bogging the schedule down with 5+ activities for each delivery the project is going to have seems excessive, and even the other scheduling tools don't handle it very well. #### My Preference (I think) One procurement all inclusive duration activity that has a finish to start relationship with a delivery milestone that has a start to start relationship with activities that use that material. [[LeadTime Software]] can be easily tied to the delivery milestones and every task with a delivery milestone has the delivery schedule tracked in LeadTime.
