Of course, all three of them were sitting on my lap. When we got to [this part](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=83k9u2LkZ-s&t=304s) that talks about the [[Holy Ghost]] related to [[D&C 8#2|D&C 8:2]]: >[!scripture] [[D&C 8#2|D&C 8:2]] >![[D&C 8#2]] Kate turned and looked up to me with a quite profound question, **"Is the [[Holy Ghost]] your friend?"** My first thought was, "She's two." She has probably heard about him before and wants to meet him like meeting Santa at a Christmas party. Then the profound nature of the question sank in: What does it even mean to be friends with the Holy Ghost? Later that night, I found some scriptures like [[D&C 84#63|D&C 84:63]], [[D&C 104#1|D&C 104:1]], & [[Moses 7#18|Moses 7:18]] that all talk about friendship with God. Mostly, I found that it's an open-door friendship invitation; you just have to follow all the rules (commandments). Studying a bit further, I came across Brad Wilcox's talk in conference a few years ago titled [[Worthiness Is Not Flawlessness — Wilcox Oct 2021|Worthiness is Not Flawlessness]]. I was particularly drawn to this quote: >[!quote] [[Worthiness Is Not Flawlessness — Wilcox Oct 2021#Quote 1]] >![[Worthiness Is Not Flawlessness — Wilcox Oct 2021#Quote 1]] It's not some magic; we're now perfect and get the Spirit. A true friend helps you through the good and the bad. That's not to be misunderstood with behavior that offends the [[Holy Ghost]] and our work to regain his constant companionship; it's a reminder that we are "not just walking _toward_ God and Christ. We are walking _with_ Them."^[ [[Worthiness Is Not Flawlessness — Wilcox Oct 2021]] ] Ever tripped with friends nearby and held out your hand for help up? It can be that simple. They can be our friends, so ask for a leg up.
